Noiseniks A Place to Bury Strangers are headlining. The only thing that ever seems to get mentioned about APTBS is how f-ing loud they are, but there’s really catchy songs under all that squall (and behind the smoke machines).

River to River Festival. A Place to Bury Strangers does aggro electrogoth that we immediately associate with those black-clad misfits in ’80s teen movies.

trio is sweeter and more palatable than it would like you to believe. The band’s throbbing, Jesus and Mary Chain-inspired shoegaze makes liberal use of effects pedals and electronics, and while its songs are indeed loud, they’re also curiously lulling

Recipe for Blueberry Muffins
I made some blueberry muffins for the folks at a meeting of the faculty advisory committee for the UMW teaching center. The following link takes you to the recipe I start with. This time I sued 1/4 cup corn meal, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, and the remaining flour was all-purpose white. All organic of course. The recipe in the link below calls for dipping the cooked muffins in a glaze. I don’t use a glaze and skip steps 9 and 11 in the recipe. Just mix the ingredients as directed, bake the muffins, and take them out when done.
